Sustainable Nantucket

Founded in 2000, Sustainable Nantucket’s mission is to preserve the community character of Nantucket while sustaining its economic and environmental vitality. SN raises awareness about local food, advocates for local food sources and production, and develops strategic partnerships between growers, food producers, and the community to improve resource access and build food security and sovereignty on-island. Programs facilitated by SN include the Farm to School Program, the Farmers & Artisans Market, NantucketGrown™ Campaign, and the Community Farm Institute, a farmer training and education program based at the Walter F. Ballinger Educational Community Farm.
