BORN & BREAD BAKERY

We are a year round artisanal bread bakery and mercantile space located in downtown historic Nantucket, 30 miles out to sea. We procure local artisanal goods and accoutrements, clean living products, practical kitchen wares, and quality sustenance.

Our focus is naturally leavened organic sourdough. The dough goes through a 20-40 hour cold fermentation process which allows it to develop its signature sour taste.

BORN & BREAD MERCANTILE

It is with pride that we are able to provide a downtown space for the numerous local Artisans to sell there products. We partner with 100 Mile Makers to bring the finest local artisanal goods Nantucket and its surrounds has to offer. We feature Ambrosia Nantucket’s spices and teas. Driftaway soaps made on and for Nantucket, local Washashore Farm produce, local pottery from Viola Rose Designs, as well as local honeys, jams, jellies and olive oil.

We also think its important to curate quality and clean living within the kitchen. Our mercantile area is stocked with time tested culinary items that we and our chef friends rely on.​

Being responsible for our environment and health of our families is a top priority for us. That is why we offer non-toxic and sustainable cleaning supplies, and food storage.
