Founded in 1902, the Maria Mitchell Association (MMA) preserves the legacy of Nantucket native Maria Mitchell, an accomplished astronomer, naturalist, and educator. The Association creates and provides opportunities for visitors of all ages to develop a life-long passion for science through education, research, and first-hand exploration of the sky, land, and sea of Nantucket Island. You can choose to engage through either of their two observatories, research center, natural science museum, or aquarium.
