For proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs from organizations, schools, and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community. These grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities on Nantucket. Online and in-person programming will be considered this year. For classes, exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies, or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures.

This is a great time to kickstart cultural programming options for consideration for 2021. The aim of the funding process is to support programming that eliminates financial barriers by supporting low and or no cost programming options for participants and guests to energize the arts at all levels for members of the Nantucket community. The funding is provided to offset program costs and allow this programming to come to frustration. Allowing organizations an opportunity to engage and serve new guests, or an existing population better.

The Nantucket Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community. Community Members include Jordana Fleischut/ Chair, Emma Young/Treasurer, as well as Justin Cerne, Michael Kopko, Tony Wagner, Ava Rollins, Sarah Ellis, and Janet Schulte serves as our Art and Culture Liaison to the Town.
